In his speech during the 62nd Power Day celebrations, the ODM leader warned the President Ruto against the revival of the regional administration system.
According to Raila, such a powerful regime is a remnant of colonialism that has no place in modern Kenya.
“They say people should be united without gender, ethnic, religious or cultural. This is the founders of our nation. Said Raila.
The former prime minister emphasized the importance of strengthening the resolution rather than gathering all authority in the middle.
“I invite you, Mr. President, to ensure that the resolution works by providing more resources to the county so that they can provide services to the people. he added.
In his speech, the ODM leader also urged the Ruto government to ensure that affected families are compensated to promote peace in the country.
He said that the exemption issued by political leaders during the National Prayer Breakfast led by President Ruto, was just the beginning of efforts to reconcile Kenyan youth and their families.
“It is as good as the first step of reconciliation. But there are people who have been injured and others who died. I would like to say that we should compensate for the families of the dead and the injured so that we can close this chapter of our nation’s history,” said the former Prime Minister.
