President William Ruto on Saturday, May 31, 2025, hosted grassroots leaders from Homa Bay County at the Homa Bay State Lodge ahead of Madaraka Day celebrations.

Ruto on meeting leaders
The head of state in a statement shared via his official social media accounts indicated that the meeting was part of his consultations with leaders and other stakeholders in an effort to have a progressive government that serves every Kenyan in every part of the country.
“It is our business to have a progressive government that serves every Kenyan in every part of our country. We will achieve this by regularly consulting with leaders and other stakeholders. With Homa Bay County grassroots leaders at the State Lodge, Homa Bay,” Ruto stated.

Governor Wanga’s take
Homa Bay County Governor Gladys Wanga, on her part, termed the region’s state lodge a symbol of Homa Bay’s growing national significance.

While welcoming Kenyans to the Madaraka Day fete that will be hosted at the newly renovated Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay, Wanga noted that Ruto has hosted discussions with grassroots leaders on accelerating development projects in the county and country.
“H.E. President William Samoei Ruto today at the State Lodge, a symbol of Homa Bay’s growing national significance, hosted discussions with grassroots leaders on accelerating development projects in the county and country. Karibuni Homa Bay for #MadarakaDay,” she stated.

Homa Bay is highly hyped for the Madaraka Day celebrations, which the county says have opened up opportunities and poised it for development.
