Along with opposition leaders, they directly focused on President William Ruto’s administration Kenya first.
Addressing a large crowd of enthusiastic residents, the leaders used the forum to criticize the presidency Ruto and plan for the 2027 General Election.
One of the most interesting speeches came from Nyandarua Senator John Metu, who called for a bold call between opposition leaders and made inflammatory remarks about the president’s future.
What did Methu say about Ruto?
Methu called for opposition to remain united in preparation for the 2027 election, and to ensure Ruto failed.
“I want to ask our leaders, Kalonzo and Gachagua, to continue to work together,” Methu began. “What we are asking is this, Ruto said he wants two seasons, and that’s okay. The first term, he serves as president. But for the second term, I want you to join, and when we take him home, take him to jail to finish his second term there.”
The MP went a long way, accusing Ruto of managing the deaths of Kenyan youth while in power.
He ignored recent presidential attempts of reconciliation, demanding more than just words.
“Ruto led the murder of young people like me. And now he wants to apologize? If he wants us to believe that forgiveness is true, he should resign.“Methu added, his pronunciation met with a roar from the crowd.
Is the removal of Ruto from power the only agenda of opposition?
In a preceding story with TUKO.co.ke, Gachagua referred to political tension after he strongly responded to Ruto’s allegations that the opposition had no open agenda.
Gachagua made it clear that removing Ruto from the 2027 general election was not just part of the opposition plan, it was a plan.
Speaking during a political conference in Tseikuru organized by Kalonzo, Gachagua emphasized the need for the opposition. He said the talks are already underway with other leaders to form a terrible coalition that could challenge the Kenyan administration first in the ballot.
Gachagua ignored Ruto’s criticism, claiming the opposition should not take orders from the government that aims to replace it.
