The politician invited senior opposition politicians, including former deputy president Rigathi Gachaguain his Boma in Tseikuru, Kitui County.
During his speech, Kalonzo invited his sons to the stage and introduced his friends.

His wife Kalonzo, Pauline, was not present at the event, and Kalonzo explained that he was following the events on TV.

The preacher called Kalonzo on the platform, and gave him the sheets and prayed for Pauline to recover, which touched Kalonzo.
How did Kalonzo meet his wife?
Kalonzo and Pauline have been married since 1985 and have been blessed with four lovely children.
In 2021, the veteran politician revealed that he first met Pauline in 1972, when he was in second form at the Girls’ School.
They met at a Christian conference held at Meru School, where Kalonzo was in the fifth form.
