What is the Kithure Kindiki profile?

Kindiki was born on July 16, 1972, in Irunduni village, located in Tharaka Nithi County.

He studied at Irunduni Primary School before moving to Lenana School for his high education.

He obtained a degree in law (LLB) from Moi University, followed by a Law Diploma Diploma from the Kenyan Law School.

To advance his education abroad, Kindiki received a Master’s degree in the International Act of Human Rights and Democracy, as well as a doctoral degree in international law, from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

At the age of 52, Kindiki collected over 26 years of professional experience.

His professional work includes teaching at the Moi University Law School, continuing to the chief lecturer and head of the public law department at the University of Nairobi.

He also served as head of the University of Nairobi. In addition to his educational responsibilities, he has a reputation for practicing law in the Kenyan High Court and the International Criminal Court.

The Public Service period began in 2008 with the appointment of national equity secretary under the former President Mwai Kibaki.

He served as Tharaka-Nithi County Senator from 2013 to 2022. At that time, he held the post of majority leader in the Senate from 2013 to 2017 and was Deputy Speaker from 2017 to 2020.

The Ministry of Interior recognizes Kindiki as a prominent expert in international human rights law. He has consulted with various local and international organizations, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the United Nations Development Program.

Its professional partners include the Council of Akadia on the United Nations system, the International Association for forced Migration, the Kenyan Law Society, and the Kenyan chapter of the International Lawyers Commission.
