Inject party leader Morara Kebaso has welcomed the growing calls to send President William Ruto home, but rejected the idea of replacing him with individuals he describes as corrupt and visionless.
In a statement shared via his X account on Thursday, May 29, 2025, Kebaso supported the push to unseat President Ruto but insisted that real change would not come from the current opposition leaders.
Kebaso noted that while he backs the push to send Ruto home, he does not believe the current opposition figures offer a viable alternative. He criticised long-serving leaders who, in his view, have failed to bring meaningful change and accused some of lacking a clear and transformative vision for the country.
“We support the call to send Ruto home without brakes. But we do not support the call to replace Ruto with corrupt individuals who have no alternative vision or have been in leadership for years without any change. We seek a better future for the people of Kenya. That is the position of the youth of Kenya,” he wrote.

Solo path
Kebaso’s remarks come just days after he announced that he would not align himself with either the government or the opposition. He emphasised that both camps were riddled with corruption and lacked the integrity to bring meaningful change.
The politician, who leads a youth-driven movement dubbed No to Young to Lead, believes that the future of Kenya lies in fresh leadership led by young people committed to integrity and efficiency. He said the movement is open to any youth, regardless of political affiliation, as long as they share these values.
“The Not Too Young To Lead movement seeks to build youth leadership that is based on integrity and efficiency in all levels of government. Any youth from any political party is welcome. As a movement, we don’t support the current corrupt government or the corrupt opposition that has fronted itself as a replacement. We seek to build an alternative,” Kebaso said in a statement issued on May 20, 2025.
Kebaso has in the recent past been vocal in his criticism of the opposition alliance led by prominent figures like Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua, and ex-Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.

He has questioned their credibility, saying their long political careers have yielded little to no change.
“Is this what Gen Z died for? Is this the future we wanted? So, we are removing Ruto to replace him with a former corrupt tribal deputy president, a former corrupt CS who presided over the killing of Kenyans throwing them in rivers, a former corrupt CS who has held four cabinet positions and never changed anything, and a former corrupt fake fertilizer CS who was charged with rape in a court of law. This is unity without vision, unity without purpose,” he said.
He went on to urge young people across Kenya to reject what he called a coalition of tumbocrats and projects funded by individuals who have stolen from the country.
“I urge all the young people of Kenya to reject this coalition of tumbocrats and projects funded by the guy who stole 6 trillion from this nation. Let all young leaders come together and chart a new path for Kenya. I am ready to sit down with progressive leaders who lack the experience of theft. We will not recycle the problem to solve the problem,” Kebaso added.
His comments sparked a clash with opposition leader Martha Karua, who accused Kebaso of being used by the government to distract from the ongoing struggle to hold the regime accountable. She referred to the controversial events involving government official Kasongo and the killing of protesters, blaming the state for the bloodshed.
“Kasongo ordered the Gen Z to be killed to remain in power. The focus should be on bringing him and his accomplices to account. Any other discussions that deviate from this topic are state-sponsored diversion tactics from #bloodparliament,” Karua posted.
