The MP is reportedly unconscious at a coffee farm in Juja, on Monday, May 26.

A local video later circulated on social networks, showing the MP being taken to a car allegedly from the farm.

He was taken to a nearby health center and later transferred to Karen Hospital, where he was still hospitalized and received treatment.

What did the security guard tell the police?

Police took the responsibility to investigate the situation of the MP’s disappearance and his return.

Among the people who interviewed them was the security guard of the coffee farm owned by businessman Jimmy Wanjigi.

Investigators also wanted to compare the coffee themes contained in the local video with that of the real field.

They noted that the areas did not match.

In addition, according to police, the security guard secretly told them that the situation was calm in the field and did not appear any movement before or after the MP was reportedly found.

“When we arrived at the scene of the alleged incident, police officers from Juja investigated it and photographed it. After comparing the field trees with the width of the road and the video of the incident, it was found to be uncomfortable. During the interview, Moses Kariuki, a security guard owned by Jimmy Wanjigi, said he did not witness any such incident,” Part of the police statement read.

What car was used by George Koimburi?

At the same time, the police – who had previously denied involvement in the disappearance of the MP – noted that the car used from the area was found to the hospital, belonged to Koimburi himself, and that one of the helpers was his driver.

However, police efforts to get information from the first hospital served in Koimburi before being transferred to Karen Hospital was unpleasant, after health workers refused to provide important information.

“Officials headed to Plainview Hospital in Ruiru, where the MP was reported to be taken for treatment. They confirmed that the vehicle used, with registration number KCJ 660p, was George Koimburi and was run by Frida Njeri, who was one of the first people to arrive at the alleged scene. Police said.

Despite politics around the issue, the police promised to address it professionally with the intention of finding full truth.

They also said that anyone who was found to be involved in the disappearance of the MP would be brought before the law.

“We will continue to monitor every indication, analyze professional evidence and make sure those involved are legally responsible.”

Did George Koimburi avoid arrest?

In another move, police said the MP had information about his arrest on Friday, May 23.

He was to be brought to court on charges related to land fraud, as approved by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

According to police, after receiving news of his arrest, Koimburi climbed the bodaboda and disappeared from the operation he was leading in his parliamentary constituency, then turned off his phone.

His driver was arrested instead and taken to the headquarters of DCIwhere he reported and then released.

Police insisted that their investigation into the alleged allegations of the MP would not be directly related to the charges he faced.

How did the Koimburi resident respond to the police statement?

Some politicians from the opposition attacked the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, accusing him of making misleading information about Koimburi’s abduction.

Former Minister of Public Service, Justin Muturihe accused him of trying to cover the “open kidnapping” to relieve the police.

A similar statement was also made by the Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyokawho said the Kanja statement was sad.
