Githunguri MP, Gathoni Muumomba, accused the party of violating Orwoba’s democratic rights.
Speaking in Mombasa on Wednesday, May 21, Wamuchomba said the act was a violation of ORWOBA’s right to join the people or groups he wanted.
Accompanied by Senator Richard Onyonka, Wamuchomba said that Orwoba, who is a nominee senator through UDAhe is politically abused, which signifies a weakening of national values.
“We say, UDA stop bothering MPs. You can’t exclude Gloria and her community. You can’t say that because Gloria is chosen through UDA, then you are not allowed to cooperate with the people of her community. He said they were.
The statement came after the Senate Speaker, Amason Kingi, announced that Orwoba’s seat had been open following his dismissal by the UDA party.
Kewopa’s departure chairman said he supports Orwoba as his political rights and freedom of cooperation are violated.
“Uda basically means a democratic party. he added.
He said if the party were really democratic, it would allow Orwoba to cooperate with his community without taking it as a betrayal of the party or joining its opponents.
Kisii Senator, Onyonka, said the party humiliated Orwoba for fear of defeat in the 2027 presidential election, where it is said that Matiang’i may be running for them.
“Gloria is a victim of the situation she found. She is treated this way just because she has a friendly relationship with Matiang’i. I hope the court will save her because these things are not fair,” Said Onyonka.
Was the Gloria Orwoba seat declared open?
An official announcement made through the Government Gazette on May 21 confirmed the position to be vacant under section 101 (2) of the Constitution of Kenya.
The UDA party wrote to the Senate Speaker demanding that his seat be announced, a move that opened the way to IEBC Fill that space.
“In accordance with Article 29 of the UDA Constitution, and after discussing in detail, the Party Disciplinary Committee has decided that Gloria Orwoba should be expelled from UDA membership immediately,” Said UDA Secretary -General Hassan Omar.
As part of the process, UDA informed the Speaker, the Registrar of Political Parties, and the IEBC about the decision.
“Based on the rules of party nomination and the party list presented to the IEBC before the 2022 general election, the party has proposed the name of Consolata Wabwire Bububi from the constituency constituency, Bungoma County to fill the vacancy,” Added Omar.

COURT IS CONSIDERING UDA ADDITION
In recent progress, Orwoba received a temporary recovery after the Supreme Court canceled the implementation of UDA’s decision to dismiss him.
Judge Lawrence Mugambi issued the order on Wednesday, May 21, suspending the decision of the UDA disciplinary committee until the case was heard and fully decided.
Through its lawyers, Orwoba accused the party of violating a preliminary court order that had prevented the party from continuing the disciplinary session.
In his request, Orwoba mentioned UDA senior officials, including Charles Njenga and Cecily Mbarire, and accused them of having bad intentions and undermining the judiciary.
