Mudavadi said that the Kenyan embassy in Dar es Salaam has been in contact with Boniface Mwangi And you are making a concerted effort to determine how he will be released and reinstated in Nairobi.

Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, May 20, he admitted that the government of Tanzania It has not provided clear information on the reasons for Mwangi’s arrest or about the recent transfer of several Kenyan citizens.

“Boniface Mwangi is in Tanzania and is detained by authority. We hope he will be released and helped to return home,” Said Mudavadi.

“I think the people who visited Tanzania rocked the government especially during this difficult and strong election period,” Added the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Mwangi had traveled to Dar es Salaam to attend the case of Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu.

Prior to his arrest on Monday, May 19, the activist reported that his life was in danger after armed men surrounded his room at the Serena hotel.

Earlier on Tuesday, May 20, the President of the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), Boniface Mwabukusi, confirmed that Mwangi and journalist and attorney from UgandaAgatha Atuhaire, had already been deported.

According to Mwabukusi, their dismissal was administered by the Tanzania Department of Immigration.

Mwangi and Atuhaire were reportedly detained at the Dar es Salaam Police Station since their arrest on Monday, May 19.

It was alleged that Mwangi was arrested for allegedly making false information to enter Tanzania.

However, after failing to emerge and prove their safety, human rights activist Hussein Khalid struck Kamsa, saying that efforts to search for Mwangi and Atuhaire through legal and diplomatic means hit rock bottom, which raised concerns about security and location.
