Catholic priest in Nyandarua, Rev. Fr. John Maina Ndegwa, has been found killed just two weeks after welcoming former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua During the parish event.

Maina, Patriarch of the Iwamiti Catholic parish, is reportedly kidnapped, attack on a dull device, and later found he was thrown along the road in the Kopey area, Gilgil, County of Nakuru – approximately 50 km from his parish.
Maina died while undergoing treatment at St. Joseph Gilgil’s hospital, where he was rushed for emergency treatment.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate that his Subaru Forester car has not been found.
The shocking event has brought great sadness to the community and the Church.
Nyandarua Senator, John Metu, expressed his sadness following the sudden death of the priest, recalling how he had welcomed the deputy President Gachagua and his team during the Parish family day celebrations two weeks ago.
“We are shocked to hear about the sudden death of Patriarch John Maina Ndegwa of the Igwamiti Parish. Patriarch Maina served Mr. Rigathi Gachagua, Egh, and our team at the Parish Family Day celebrations two weeks ago. Your soul rest in peace, my dear friend,” He said while confirming the death on May 16.
An investigation into the intentions and perpetrators of such brutal killings is ongoing. The authorities have not yet realized whether the incident is related to recent politics or is an act of crime.
