Was Philip Arocho given the conditions before being released?
Delivering the decision on Friday, May 16, JKIA Judge Judge Irene Gichobi issued a difficult remarks for the release of Aroko.
Among the conditions imposed by the court, Aroko has been severely prevented from traveling to Homa Bay County at any time during the ongoing investigation.
The court also prohibited him from contacting members of the family of a lawmaker who was killed or involved with any other people suspected of being involved in the murder.
Gichobi also ordered Arocho to report to regular investigative officers and to fully cooperate by providing any evidence or information that appears to be appropriate for the case.
In addition, the court ordered him to surrender his passport to prevent the risk of running.
In order to preserve the integrity of the investigation, Aroko was also warned against interfering with any evidence or trying to influence the ongoing legal process in any way.
The court stressed that any violation of these conditions could result in the cancellation of its release.
The judge’s decision followed to dismiss the Director of Public Prosecutions Director to extend Arocho’s restriction for seven days.

Speaking before High Court Judge Alexander Muteti on Monday, May 12, Arocho’s attorney, Danstan Omarihe said earlier that his client had planned to attend the funeral of the late MP.
However, the plans changed after Aroko were kept in custody and detained.
Omari further told the court that Aroko intended to visit Were’s grave to pray as soon as he was released.
Omari emphasized that, according to African cultural traditions, mourning rites and funerals often pass beyond the funeral day.
He said Arocho hoped to give his final honors in a cultural way once the ongoing investigation was completed.
Omari further said that Aroko is still dedicated to his political demands and still hopes to run for Kasipul’s parliamentary seat.
He planned to cooperate with residents and reunite with the community once he was approved by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
