Minister of Internal Security Kipchumba Murkomen He has responded to the incident, saying the blame is for the organizers.

Speaking at a security forum for the security forum in Isiolo County, Murkomen criticized the Gachagua team for not informing the National Police Service (NPS) about the incident, thus jeopardizing the safety of the attendees.

“When the former deputy president has every right to launch his political party, he and his team failed to follow the required security protocols,” Murkomen said. “We in the National Security team believe that democracy thrive when political rights are implemented without interruption, but this requires cooperation with security forces.”

According to Murkomen, NPS did not have a preliminary record or request to provide security for the DCP incident, which was held at the party headquarters.

Shortly after Gachagua and senior party officials left the venue, the situation quickly deteriorated.

Videos watched by TUKO.co.ke showed an aggressive incident in which civilian dressed people shot in the air to scatter the crowd.

Fears began when attendees struggled to seek security, while others suffered injuries in the middle of the conflict. The existing journalists were not abandoned, and several reports of abuse and threats.

Murkomen confirmed that an investigation had been launched but indicated that the riots might have come from Gachagua himself.

“Preliminary results show some of the supporters expected to be paid after the event, and when the payment was delayed or failed to be implemented, disagreement broke out,” He said. “That’s where some civilian dressed and armed, started shooting at air.”

He added that the government is working to identify those responsible and determine their intentions, including whether the armed people were part of the Gachagua Security team or unauthorized staff.

The Cabinet Secretary also took the opportunity to warn political leaders across the country.

“Whenever you plan a public gathering, inform the police; and if you compensate the followers, do it in order,” Murkomen warned. “We have seen earlier that when followers argue over money, it causes chaos.”

Responding to questions from the media, Murkomen admitted that he was not informed about the launch of the DCP until reports of chaos began to emerge.

“I didn’t know anyone was launching the ceremony today,” he said. “It was not until the reporters asked me about the incident when I followed it and I was told a group of people committed such an event. For Luck Worse, neither the police were not given information. “
