On Thursday, May 15, suspected hooligans tried to avoid the hall where Gachagua was launching his democratic party for the people.

What Kithure Kithiki said about the mess at the Gachagua event

A few minutes after the incident, Kindiki wrote on his social network page, calling on Kenyans to tolerate democracy and embrace politics based on issues.

According to Kindiki, the use of violence and insults to deal with political differences has no place in modern society.

“Our country must have democratic patience and embrace politics based on issues. Blacks, violence and divisions as a means of dealing with political differences have no place in our society.

“We owe it to the present and the next generation that a nation built in peace, to live in peace and to respect one another, even if we differ in policy issues,” Kindiki said.

How did the hooligans invade the Rigathi Gachagua?

As reported, riots broke out after hooligans raided the venue where Gachagua was launching his new political outfit along Moses Gitau Road in Lavington.

In an online video, police officials quickly intervened and shot in the air to disperse the hooligans approaching the gate.

Photos from the scene showed a man believed to be a police officer shooting at the air while the crowd moved towards the gate.

During the chaos, some hooligans were trapped and attacked while party officials were escorted to a safe place.

The incident may have happened shortly after the former deputy president finished launching his new political car before the 2027 general election.

Who is the leaders of the DCP party

During the ceremony, Gachagua launched temporary officers, and serving as party leader.

Among the most important responsibilities are Cleophas Malala, who will be the deputy president.

Mithika Linturi, a former Meru Senator and Minister of Agriculture, was elected as Secretary -General of the Organization, while Cate Waruguru was elected as a national leader of women.

Others are Hezron Obatha (Interim Secretary -General), Martil Ole Kamwaro (Deputy Secretary -General), Hannah Mutua (National Treasurer) and Wanjra Njoka (Deputy National Treasurer).

The former deputy president chose not to include any elected officials in the interim leadership. This move signifies strategic change, with Gachagua aiming to present the party as a new political option with no current leaders.

The party is expected to focus more on Mount Kenya’s voter camp. Several temporary officers have connections or influence in the area, suggesting a plan to strengthen support in the region.
