Speaking during a breakfast prayer at the Holygate of Heaven church in Bungoma on Tuesday, May 13, Lusaka did not complain while blaming the two leaders for stirring up The procession Against the government’s plan to rent a sugar factory for a sick investor.

The governor defended the lease plan saying it was a necessary step to restore operations in the factory and reduce the long -term misery of farmers and sugar cane workers, many of whom have been in charge for several months.

He criticized some politicians for misleading the public on the lease process, saying they had failed to submit the right alternatives.

“Where were the factory stayed for several months without paying the workers? When the machines were damaged and the cane of the farmers dried up in the countryside?” He set.

Lusaka also called on residents to question the reasons for recent protests, warning them against political manipulation.

“Let’s not pretend we care now, just because it’s easy to advance their political agendas before the 2027 elections.

He assured workers and farmers that the government is trying to speed up the permit for salaries and pending payments, promising that the lease will provide a long -term solution to the trash.

Why do Bungoma sugarcane farmers support the Rai Group

Meanwhile, a group of sugar cane farmers from the West Sugar region expressed support for the government’s decision to hire Nzoia’s sugar company to the rich Jaswant Rai for 30 years.

Speaking to reporters in the city of Webuye on Monday, May 12, the farmers, who are distributing sugar cane to both Nzoia Sugar and Rai Group in western Kenya, expressed their full support for the lease agreement, despite opposition from some local leaders.

The farmers argued that private sugar industries in the western sugar zone are working better than government -owned.

David Opala, another sugar cane farmer in the area, supported this view, focusing on the long -standing issues they have faced due to the deterioration of Nzoia’s sugar company.

He cited the delay in payments as a major challenge, which has made them financially concerned.
