Kakamega: A fatal accident near the Makhokho business center on the Kakamega-Kisumu highway has caused one person to lose their lives and three others seriously injured.

What caused the Kakamega-Kisumu Road accident?
A truck driver reportedly fleeing police collided with a motorcycle with three people including Mpanda and two passengers.
The three suffered serious injuries, while the driver died at the scene. The injured were taken to Kakamega County Referral Hospital for treatment.
According to the witnesses, the car was traveling from Kakamega to Kisumu And it is said that it was carrying a drug suspected of ethanol.
“The car was unexpected as it was evicted at speed by the police and it was about to hit the people nearby,” The witness told K24.
Eyewitnesses reported that the tires of the car were on fire and caused the driver to fail to catch and collide with a motorcycle carrying three people.
Then the truck went out on the road, turning several times, landing on the terrace.
The accident caused the truck to burn and caused instant death to the driver. Residents asked the police to use alternative methods when they followed suspected drivers.
“If the police realize that the driver is wrong, they should find the safest ways to arrest the suspect. The expel of the suspects at high speeds on highways is endangering life,” said another resident.

2 people died after three collided with a trailer
In a separate case, a fatal road accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway resulted in the deaths of two people and left several others injured.

The accident occurred in Malili area when a 16 -person public service vehicle, known as Threecollided from the back with a trailer while both heading to Mombasa, said Buxton Mayabi, deputy commissioner of Makaa County.
Mayabi confirmed that two passengers died instantly at the scene, while several others suffered different severity injuries.
The injured were transported immediately to Makaa County Hospital for treatment. The deceased’s bodies were taken to the corpse of the area, where they were awaiting the identification and surgery.
In response to the tragedy, Mayabi has called on all drivers to take precautions and carefully adhere to road safety regulations to prevent similar accidents in the future.
This incident comes a few days after another fatal accident lost the lives of 12 people on Njoro-Molo Road.
On May 8, the three -day service Nakuru K collided face -to -face with a truck near the Chebonde/Arimi area, killing all 12 passengers inside, including six men and six women.
Michael Mwaura, the county police commander, confirmed the sad description of the accident, highlighting the emergency need for the strengthening of road safety across the region.
