On Wednesday, May 14, the Office of the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) announced the arrest of Amos Barasa Kasili, a bodaboda operator linked to the murder of Were.
DCI It revealed that when interviewed, Barasa admitted involvement in the murder of the Kasipul MP.
Barasa told the detectives that he was paid KSh 50,000 to transport the senior suspects who followed Were before shooting him near the City Mortuary circuit on April 30.
“The investigation revealed that Barasa is a criminal who is accustomed to pretending to be a boda boda, often in conjunction with gangs of armed criminals during their operation. During the interrogation, he revealed his involvement in the crime, revealing that he was involved in the main perpetrators and received a payment of Ksh 50,000,” DCI said as part of its compensation.
According to DCI, Barasa was the one who drove a motorcycle seen in CCTV photos following the killed MP.
When arrested, the suspect was found with a motorcycle involved.

DCI’s investigators followed suspect Isaac Kuria to Isebania
The recent incidents take place just days after DCI detectives arrested a man believed to be responsible for the murder of Kasipul MP Ong’ongo Were.
The suspect, identified by the name of Isaac Kuria, the famous “Kush,” was arrested on Sunday, May 11, when Isebania was trying to flee Tanzania.
Investigators found that after the incident, Kush returned to Mihango residence, where a pistol believed to be used in the killings, was found.
Citizen TV reported that he then took a motorcycle to Narok before continuing his journey to a public service car to Isebania.
There, it is said that he hid while waiting for a relative who allegedly lived in Tanzania, who was intended to assist in illegally displaced.
