The sad mother was recorded in a video crying bitterly while sitting on her son’s coffin, completely refusing to go on the funeral.
According to Mutembei TV, the body of the late son was allegedly taken from him and taken to a separate funeral controlled by her ex -husband’s family.
Witnesses say that the woman, whose name has not been revealed, had already made all the funeral preparations, but was prevented in the last minute by a relative of the man’s family.
The second family claimed that the child could not be buried in the land they said it was theirs.
As the situation continued, the other child of the woman, who was estimated to be about 10 years old, looked sadly without having to say what was going on.
The controversy led to a state of unconsciousness in the fortress, as the mourners split between comforting the mother who was struggling and trying to resolve the intense conflict.
“This is not the first time to witness family dramas during a funeral here in Kisii,” Said one village elder.
“But this story is very painful because the mother was forced to watch her baby be taken even after she died.”
Despite the mother continuing to pray bitterly, the funeral continued as she looked from afar and had no help.
Funeral conflicts in Kisii and other parts of Kenya are not new, often surrounding land disputes, misunderstandings or cultural tension, especially in many families.
Kenyans online have shown compassion and anger, demanding the existence of a more clear law and how to handle family matters with compassion, especially those relating to funerals.
