Trans Nzoia: Former Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) student Brian Kibet Bera, who in 2019 tried to invade the White House with a knife, has now turned to beggars on the streets of the city of Kitale.

In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, The teenager said since then he has been forced to apply for the road for food.
He acknowledged that his attempt to enter the White House and be admitted to Mathare Mental Hospital and Moi Referral Hospital for the treatment of mental illness made him desperate.
“Now I am a street beggar because I need strength to live. Everyone on the street calls my name, I ask him to give me at least twenty shillings. We say ‘Melamem’,” Kibet said.
He also indicated that he had had a cold relationship with his parents since he refused to use his medication.
According to him, his parents still believe he is mentally ill, but he claims to be completely healed.
“Parents (parents) are forcing me to take medicine, but I have gained skill to hide it under my tongue. When they discovered that, they hit me, and sometimes I retaliated.
When asked if he was ready to return to JKUAT, Kibet said he was ready. He asked the college’s leadership to allow him to do his final exam.

He expressed hope that he would be part of the group to graduate this year.
“Even if it means to write exams in the chief office, I am ready. I do not have to prepare for those exams because I still have all the concepts.
In 2024, Kibet’s mother, Irene Chemtai, called on good Samaritans to come out and help her son finish her engineering course.
Why did Brian Kibet Bera try to enter the palace

According to Kibet, God had sent him to kill a man who allegedly be a thief and his allies.
His attempt, however, was extinguished by the security of the palace, who shot and wounded him after jumping the gate.
