The 38 -year -old mother, who was giving birth for the first time, was rushed to the health center on May 6, 2025, at 3pm and delivered the same day.

How much is the hospital bill owed to Wanjiru?

Now, seven days later, the mother of three cannot leave the hospital due to the overwhelming bills that have reached KSh 140,000.

So far, the family has been able to donate KSh 80,000 but says the hospital has refused to evict him until the full amount is paid.

Wanjiru’s sister, Mercy Waimu Okwero, told TUKO.co.ke that the decision to use the private hospital was not necessary.

“We just arrived at the private center because it was an emergency, but we can’t keep putting him here,” Sister Waimu said.

How to donate Wanjiru Hospital Bills

Mercy and her brother are looking for the new mother to be transferred to Pumwani’s delivery hospital, a public center where the cost of service is very low.

However, the current hospital emphasizes that the remaining bills must be resolved before any transfer is allowed.

What worries them is that the bills continue to be conducted every extra day he uses at the facility.

The family is now urging people with good will to help them pay the remainder of the remainder so that Wanjiru and his infants can access the cheapest care.

Contributions can be made through Paybill 247247number Account 0722579576.
