Light, who referred to the plan as a church service, was accompanied by her husband, Murega Baichu, along with political activist, Michael Makarina.

The incident, which attracted local residents, was suddenly interrupted by security officials, which discouraged the light and its supporters.

“What have we made a mistake? This is a church meeting like other meetings held here today.

“I thought you came to provide protection, but instead you stopped our cars. This means no church is allowed to worship Meru? he added.

Despite emphasizing that the meeting should continue as planned, police officers stressed their position saying they were implementing instructions from their superiors.

The husband of the Enlightenment, Murega Baichu, wanted to know what legal basis was used to terminate the meeting.

“Police are law enforcementists; what law has he violated until he is barred from holding a meeting in this place?” Baichu asked.

The former governor of the county claimed that there was a political stimulus in the moratorium on the meeting.

In his speech, he emphasized that he would not tremble or extinguish with anyone.

However, he urged his followers to remain calm and promised to organize another kind of meeting.

Will Kawira Light will be running for the governor’s seat in 2027?

Initially, TUKO.co.ke reported that Enlightenment announced the intention to run for a political seat in the next general election.

The former governor also announced plans to launch the new political party he will use.

Light was ousted in 2024 after several attempts to be dismissed by Meru County councilors succeeded.
