Nakuru – At least twelve people have been confirmed dead following a traumatic accident on Njoro-Molo Road.

The accident happened on time Three of the Nakuru K Service company collided face -to -face with a truck at 12pm, Thursday, May 8, in the Chebonde/Arimi area.

Confirming the sad news, county police commander Michael Mwaura said that 12 people in the three, including six men and six women, died instantly.

All bodies were taken to Molo Sub County Hospital, with eight rescuers being rushed to various health facilities for treatment.

MCA Elburgon, Njuguna Mwaura, said that the truck heading for Molo collided with the three Nissan, which allegedly broke the tire and lost focus.

“The area is dangerous and has been causing many accidents in recent days, leaving injuries and deaths. It is a tragic incident because we have lost many people, including a student from Deb Njoro primary school,” Mwaura told TUKO.co.ke.

Mirria Waithera, a resident of the area, said that the Nissan was badly damaged, indicating that the vehicles were going fast.

“I have seen a toddler, a driver, and another boy are still alive from Nissan, but the rest were dead; Nissan’s condition was very bad,” Said Waithera.

John Mureithi, a passenger who had been involved in the accident truck, said he was heading to Molo when they were involved in the crash after Nissan overturned and hit their truck.

He said that the good people came to rescue them, as he suffered minor injuries, but the driver was taken to hospital due to serious injuries.

“Nissan burst the tire and lost focus and then overturned and hit us. People in Nissan, many of them died for Luck bad, ” Mureithi explained.

Photos from the scene show how bad the accident was, with three being badly damaged, the mirrors being broken, the seats were damaged, and the front part completely crashed.

How the Katitu-Katitu Bay road accident happened

The accident comes a few days after another fatal accident occurred in Nyalunya area, along the Katito-Kendu Bay Road, on Wednesday afternoon, May 7, in which three men died and 15 others were seriously injured.

The accident involved three Bungoma Line Company from Migori to Kisumu with a truck traveling from Katito to Homa Bay.

Eyewitnesses described the accident as a serious one, while TUKO.co.ke saw pictures showing the vehicles were badly damaged.

Injured victims were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were stored in the Pap Onditi hospital.
