But in the midst of sadness and pain, a strong voice rose, which turned tears into a call of courage and position.

Boyd Were, the abortion of the killed MP, appeared to give a speech that turned out to be the main event of the sad day.

Wearing a black dress, his voice was firm despite the pain in his face, Boyd gave an exciting honor to the father, whom many considered a political pillar in Homa Bay County.

“I want to thank the people of Kasipul for standing with my father from 2013 to the present, and I thank you for coming to mourn him,” Boyd began to speak, causing the mourners to keep quiet as they shook their heads to signify consent.

But what followed was not just an honor, but an open oath, pointing to the unstable position of their family.

“First and foremost as a family we are not intimidated; we cannot be intimidated. My father did not raise a coward. Boyd announced.

The crowd, many of whom had arrived from different places, responded with applause and screams. Courageously, his son raised his father’s inheritance, saying he was not dead because he would continue to lead them.

“For those who thought to get rid of the Father they would be successful, you did not disturb our focus on the people of Kasipul. For the people of Kasipul, I am with you and I will not leave them.He concluded as the crowd cheered.

Will Boyd inherit him to lead Kasipul?

Earlier, Evans Bird, Chairman of the ODM branch of Kasipul, announced that the party was planning to support the late MP in the next by -elections.

The plane said that the party would support one of his wives or sons to continue its work in the parliament.

He emphasized that there was no open space for Kasipul and asked other candidates to wait until 2027, saying the seat would be given to the Were family.

The decision follows the sad death of Were, who was shot while traveling on Ngong Road in Nairobi.

Homa Bay City MP, Peter Kaluma, supported the move, recalling the 2015 incident in which Moses Kajwang ‘replaced his late brother, Otieno Kajwang’, as a senator.

Kaluma demanded the ODM national chairman, the governor Gladys starchto ensure that the party’s ticket remains within the Were family.
