Although he hoped to get help and comfort from his mother, Mutua said he got the opposite.

Mutua’s mother’s response after her daughter was infected with HIV.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mutua described a major change in their relationship:

“My mother always urged me to be careful since I was a little girl. She told me to avoid bad men and bad relationships, and I took care of myself. For Luck Worse, when I was infected with HIV with this man, it seemed like I had brought shame and humiliation. I did not want to break someone’s marriage or catch the disease, but now I’m here.

My mother knew about my situation even before I told her. I don’t know how he could know. I heard the story in the village from the people who claimed they were told by the mother. I followed up and realized that he revealed my secrets. He hates me. I realized that he was gossiping about me and this disease, “ He said.
