Rising Stars coach Salim Babu explains how a review of Mistakes against Morocco will make his charges cautious in their U-20 AFCON clash against Tunisia.

Rising Stars head coach Salim Babu has broken his silence on how the team reviewed their mistakes against Morocco in the opening match of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on May 1.

The U-20 team lost 3-2 but went down fighting, although the loss at the 30 June Stadium was courtesy of individual mistakes.

The Rising Stars face off Tunisia on Sunday evening, with just one mission; to win the match in order to revive their hopes of progressing to the next level.


Rising Stars assistant coach Anthony Akhulia has shed light on what went wrong for the Kenyan U20 national football in their opener fixture against Morocco at the ongoing U20 AFCON in Cairo.


Babu said before the team left the field after the opening day defeat,  the technical bench reviewed the videos of the first match, identifying glaring weaknesses and key areas of improvement. 

“We briefly reviewed the videos of the first match before leaving the stadium. We managed to address the mistakes and lapses in concentration that occurred in the game. Importantly, we reminded them of playing to the whistle and avoiding unforced errors,” Babu told Mozzart Sports.
