Police have arrested three suspects alleged

After the incident, West Kuria police confirmed the arrest of three people suspected of being involved in the incident which was described as a “tragic act.”

Police believe the incident may have been politically motivated and organized before the president’s visit.

One police officer, who spoke to TUKO.co.ke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the case, revealed that the suspects allegedly supported two opposition MPs from the area.

In addition, he explained that the investigation is still ongoing and that it is expected to be arrested by more suspects.

“We are about to catch the chief suspect who is believed to be planning the incident,” The official said, adding that this could be an important step in the investigation.

Despite their arrest, TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Ruto had issued an order to release the suspects arrested at the scene.

Condemning the event, the chairman of UDA Migori County, Byron Ogiga, said:

“I condemn the act with the utmost words, especially in this time when the Kurdish community wants to have their own county. Actions like this can eradicate the good that the President brought and prevented us from receiving the rest we expect.”
