Gachagua decided at a time when a MP from Mount Kenya allegedly betrayed him for reporting him to Rutoand thus created tensions that contributed to his move to be ousted.
Speaking during an interview with Weru TV On Sunday, April 27, Gachagua mentioned the Meru Senator Kathhuri Murungi as the person who reported his activities to the President, thus exacerbating the violence between him and Ruto.
Did Kathhuri Murungi reported to Ruto to Ruto?
Gachagua explained that he had organized a meeting with officials from Mount Kenya to discuss the regional challenges especially facing Ruto’s leadership.
He noted that there was a condition of isolation and abuse, which sparked controversy among local leaders.
“I urged MPs to help me deal with the President so that I do not harm people from the wealthy Kenyan votes and ensure that the agreed development projects are completed,” Gachagua said.
However, things changed dramatically when Gachagua learned that, behind him, Murungi was alleged to have taken a group of MPs at the meeting and reported Gachagua directly to Ruto.
This move, according to Gachagua, led to fierce opposition from the President.
“He hurt me a lot,” Gachagua recalled. “He questioned why I was reporting to MPs.”
This case is believed to have contributed to the deterioration of Gacha and Ruto’s relationship, and eventually submitting a motion for his charges.
