Jalang’o responds to his controversial statements of seeing witches at night

The MP used the words to talk about the importance of security lights in the region, stating that he had witnessed a witch meeting complaining of electricity installation which disrupted their “night run” operations.

His comments sparked anger online, with many criticizing him for developing historical stories involving Kisii and magic.

What did Jalang’o say about online hatred?

In his response, Jalang’o expressed his sadness over the misrepresentation of his remarks, explaining that he had never intended to insult or despise the Kisii community.

He emphasized that the people of Kisii are his friends, his colleagues, and his family, and said he was deeply hurt by how his pronunciation was misinterpreted.

“I am so hurt by how my words were distorted. It hurts me to hear that anyone would think I would insult or despise the Kisii community,” said Jalang’o.

He asked the public to look at the full video clip and to understand the exact context of his pronunciation, calling for unity and rejecting a lie that could divide people.

“I will never accept a brief description or despised coming from my mouth or in my heart. Please, I ask you to take time to watch the full video and understand the true context,” he added.

Sylvanus Osoro Defends Jalang’o

Following his response, several people, including Mugirango South MP Sylvanus Osoro, described the support of the Jalang’o.

Osoro defended Jalang’o, saying that the word “wizard” is an English word and that there is no insult to the Kisii community.

“Japheth Nyakundi, continue to illuminate them through electrical connections until they are exposed. Let us stop ignorance! Jalang’o, when you visit me and identify them, keep it public. There is no insult to the community,” Osoro said.

He also urged Jalang’o to ignore online scandals and continue his charity work, especially his contributions to the Church.

William Ruto signing an order to end ethnicity

Meanwhile, on his visit to northeastern Kenya, the President William Ruto He reiterated his government’s commitment to end discrimination and ethnicity, especially in the availability of national identities and birth certificates.

The president publicly stated that he had signed a Presidential decree outlined measures to remove these discriminatory actions.

Ruto emphasized that citizens from northern Kenya will no longer face additional investigations or ethnic profiles to obtain national identity documents.
