Assefa and Jepkosgei took charge of proceedings early on as Olympic champion Hassan tucked in behind them.

The trio however soon broke away from the chasing pack as the likes of former champion Vivian Cheruiyot failed to track their surge.
The three kept together until the hour mark where Jepkosgei and Assefa broke away from Hassan as the Dutch star struggled to keep up.
The pair kept together until the two-hour mark as Assefa made her move to leave Jepkosgei in the dust, as she stormed to victory.
