What is Conclave?

The conference is known by the name of the Cardinals’ Conference, as they make the choice to determine who will be elected as the coming pope.

The film released in 2024 with the same name, directed by Edward Berger and written by Peter Straughan, appears to show what happens after the Pope’s death.

Conclave is based on Robert Harris’s 2016 novel, and tries to give fans a comment within the secret walls of the Vatican when the cardinals gather to elect a new head of the Catholic Church.

Details about the 2025 conference have emerged and indicate that it is expected to begin on May 5, 2025.

This will be after the funeral of Holy Father Francisko scheduled for Saturday, April 26, and nine days of mourning.

Who is about to be a prospective pope?
