Why will William Ruto be re -elected?

Cherargei emphasized his double belief, noting that Kenya does not have the president’s history to serve only one term.

Speaking during a public conference in Nandi on Tuesday, April 22, Cherargei said critics were offended by his previous allegations of continuing leadership of Ruto For 10 years, but he stands with it.

“I saw some people angry when I said Ruto would be re -elected. Let me go back – no president in Kenya has served for one term,” He said.

He also mentioned former presidents Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyattaeach of whom ended two semesters as examples of political direction.

Cherargei also warned that he might revive a proposed proposal to increase the presidential term limit from five to seven years, which could give Ruto up to 14 years in power.

“If the opposition does not plan, Ruto will continue to lead this country,” He added.

He also congratulated the President on what he called good leadership, demonstrating the recent efforts of the Government to reduce the cost of fertilizer, eradicate the requirements for ID application, and to remove the ID fees.

In a statement issued by the Secretary -General of UDA Hassan Omar, the party criticized the bill presented by Cherargei, referring to it as a “faint” action that undermined democratic values ​​fought by Kenyans.

Omar criticized supporters of the bill, accusing them of ignoring the boundaries of the primary seminars playing in protecting democracy and preventing overcrowding.

Meanwhile, in November 2025, the Senate of Justice, legal and human rights issues rejected the bill, citing strong public opposition.

Chairman of the committee Hillary Kiprotich Sigei said the panel reviewed 168,801 public presentations, with 99.99% rejecting the proposal.

Sigei noted that many Kenyans expressed their concern that the extension of the presidential term could hamper accountability and undermine democratic audit by allowing officials to remain in power for a long time without conflict with voters.
