Eldoret: Mother finds her disappeared son after attending a funeral

Miriam Wanjiru, her mother, says the misery began on Tuesday, April 15, when the family attended the funeral ceremony of Yamumbi, the suburbs of Eldoret.

After the incident, Robert Mugo failed to return home, which led to a severe search for his family.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke alone, Wanjiru described the sad incident trying to find his son.

He said despite receiving a clue that he appeared in Kipkaren Street the next day, the leadership turned out to be false.

“I have sought all this county, in every field I suspected that he might have gone, but my efforts have been in vain,” He said.

Mugo, who lives in a mental health status, is a student at a GZ primary school in Eldoret, where he attends classes with his younger brother, who is in Grade 6.

He referred to Mugo as a friendly boy who collaborated well with his classmates and children in the area.

“My life is unbearable. We have no peace of mind. This is the worst thing that has never happened to our family,” He said in tears.

The frustrated mother has reported the incident to several police stations including Langas, Yamumbi, and Eldoret Central, in the hope of seeking help to find her son.

Wanjiru vowed he would not give up until his son was found saying his hope was to see him safe and restore him peace of mind.

Neighbors have come forward to support Wanjiru, describing his current situation as serious.

“Please report to the police when you meet the baby. The mother cannot focus on any work – her thinking is always on her son,” Said the neighbor who cared, Njoroge.

The incident increases the number of cases of disappearance in the Langas area and other parts of the city of Eldoret, reported since 2024.

While some children are found, others are still unknown, which raises concerns between residents and local leaders.
