Kajiado: Father tells bitterly what happened when his son was killed by a lion: “I heard a lump”

One family in the village of Emakoko, Ongata RongaiKajiado County, has been saddened after Lion-Jike killed their 13-year-old daughter.

Peace Mwende was playing with two of his friends in a family council when the lion invaded and fled with him.

Father narrates Lion’s fate against Rongai’s daughter

Commenting on the tragic incident, Mwende’s father, Kennedy Kigen, explained that he was close to his daughter when he was playing when he heard screaming.

“I tried to follow him, but I couldn’t save him,” He said.

She ran up to the scene, discovered that her daughter was the victim, being beaten by a female lion.

The mother of the seventh -grade student, Elizabeth, called on the government to intervene and help the family, saying they were missing out on ways to address the situation on their own.

The Emakoko village elder confirmed the incident, noting that the lion dragged the body to the nearest river.

“We searched for him all evening and finally found a corpse near a river. The animal had broken about 80 percent of his body,” The old man said.

EMAKOKO CALLS KWS

Residents criticized the National Wildlife Service (KWS), accusing it of walking. They claimed that this was not a special occasion and that wild animals regularly enter their homes and steal goats, sheep and even dogs.

“The government should keep an electric fence from Rongai to Kitengela to prevent the animals from being lost in our homes,” said Salesio Ntaugu, a resident.

Another street, Lucy Yiamaitaa, added that agriculture has been almost impossible due to monkeys invading and destroying crops.

“Everyone who was cultivating was forced to stop due to losses caused by animals when they destroyed the fields,” He explained.

KWS, confirming the tragic death of the 13 -year -old, stated that they had initiated an operation to arrest the Lion.

Husband and Wife fight Lion Isiolo
