The university community mourned the tragedy, describing Dennis as a fierce, cheerful, and dedicated medical studies.
His death raised an emergency call for good mental health assistance, with students calling for universities to introduce counseling and health programs.

The body of a third -year medical student was discovered in a school swimming pool on Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025.
The unfortunate discovery has brought shock through the Institute’s Health Science Faculty, where Dennis was known as a vibrant student, a soft speaker following a degree in medical and surgical degree (MBCHB).

Friends, fellow classmates, and lecturers face the painful fact of losing a young man who is defined as cheerful and cheerful.
In an online video, Dennis’ body appears to be released from a swimming pool shortly after a series of exciting publications emerged on its social networking pages.
In those publications, which have been rapidly spreading, the young man pointed to a severe emotional trauma and mentioned where his body would be found.
Many now consider the publications to be his cry for help when he was struggling with mental stress, but sadly it was not heard.
In a statement, the University of Nairobi (UNSA) students, the Faculty of Health Sciences, issued a formal statement expressing their grief and respecting Dennis’ memory.
“It is sadly we announce the departure of our beloved colleague, Ndi Dennis Kamunya. Dennis was a good and optimistic student, known for his dedication to his studies, his enthusiasm, and his stability. His death is a painful loss not only to his classmates and lecturers, but also to the entire faculty of social science science,” the statement read.
UNSA calls for a mental health
UNSA also used the information as a call to take action on mental health awareness among students, emphasizing the need for open dialogue on mental health.
“As a community of future health care workers, we must continue to legalize open talks about mental health, investigating, and seeking help when we need it. Nobody should be quietly struggling,” Joseph Kariuki Njogu, the governor of the faculty, in condolences.
Kamunya’s sudden death has raised a new call for higher education institutions to introduce mental health services to students, especially those in high -pressure disciplines such as medicine.

Students who spoke to TUKO.co.ke exposed the constant pressure of success, isolation due to the study process, and limited access to mental health resources.
“Pressure is true. Sometimes you sink into books and emotions as we now close exams. It is time for universities to invest in trained consultants and have regular mental health reviews,” Phelix, a Uon student, said.

Maseno University student found dead
In another tragic event, the death of Julius Kamanja, a first -year student at Maseno University, has left the college residents with Simanzi.
Kamanja, who joined the School of Mathematics and Computer Science, disappeared on March 15 after leaving his hostel without his phone or laptop, allegedly going to buy lunch.
