Trans Nzoia: George Natembeya ignores ethnic claims, vows to make progress despite challenges

These are rumored following the statements of the Nandi Senator, Samson Cherargeiwho suggested the possibility of a move to oust the governor Natembeya, led by government supporters.

According to Cherargei, Natembeya’s pronunciation could stimulate ethnic divisions in Trans Nzoia County which has people from different tribes.

However, Natembeya has vehemently denied the allegations, explaining that his strong position on local politics and integrated development has raised concerns for people who were benefiting from prolonged divisions in the area.

He says the political situation has raised fears about its influence and the region in the 2027 national politics.

“It took only one person to change the direction of the politics of this area. When he died, many people began to despise this area. Said Natembeya.

What record does Natembeya have in Trans Nzoia?

Natembeya has also ignored allegations that his government had failed to implement development projects in Trans Nzoia County.

“People need to understand how the government works. When we entered the office, we inspected all the proposed projects. Some already had original drawings, we had to find friends to partner with them. Some of these projects are almost completed,” he added.

The prominent governor described several development projects that he believes will change the lives of Trans Nzoia residents and the entire western region when it is completed:

1. Mothers and Children’s Hospital of Tom Mboya

Natembeya referred to the center as a major priority for his government. Once it is completed, it will meet the increasing needs of health care for mothers and children in the county.

“This modern center will serve our mothers and children. It’s unique, I assure residents,” He said.

2. Kenyatta Stadium

Natembeya reminded that the youth agenda was part of his campaign manifesto, which helped him get the governor’s seat.

Accordingly, this field will give young people infrastructure to develop their talents and give them the opportunity to be known internationally.

“This stadium will be able to take 20,000 people. You will be of many uses, with offices, hotels, and power lamps that will enable young people to use it properly and also generate income counties,” He explained.

3. County Administration Headquarters

Natembeya described this administrative building project as an ambitious effort, adding that it would bring together all county government services and thus reduce time loss and improve service delivery to residents.

“This project will reduce time loss and bring all county services closer to the public. It will strengthen service management and control corruption by ensuring transparency by having one service center,” He explained.

Natembeya acknowledged the challenges in the health sector in his county. He noted that health is a collective responsibility between the national government and the county government.

“The young man’s hospital was a project initiated by my predecessor. When we took over, we realized that the money was already spent. We appointed the commission to investigate and propose a way to move forward.“He said.
