Gatundu village in the north has been left in shock and a state of unconsciousness after a young man confessed to two separate killings of 2 girls.

The victims were Rosemary Njeri, 22, who lost on March 15 and later found dead in a coffee farm; And 19 -year -old Hellen Wambui, who also disappeared on March 30, and her body found two days later.
Reports released by the office of the local MP, Elijah Njoroge Kururia, indicate that a resident Samuel Kamau was arrested on Wednesday, April 16, after allegedly admitting involvement in the killings.
Kamau was arrested in the Dry area, Ngorongo inside the North Gatundu.
Investigating officers followed him after tracking the first victim’s phone, which he allegedly started using it after killing him.
It is alleged that he threw a second victim’s phone to the toilet, and local youths participated for a long time on Wednesday to help detectives find it.
“He admitted that he attended the funeral of both, and even participated in digging their graves,” The statement said, adding that the accused did not show any regret.
At present, he is waiting to be brought to the Supreme Court.
“As I mentioned, these are not the events of insecurity but the result of a recurrence in society. Two years ago, another man in Ngorongo killed four people,” The MP said while congratulating the police and investigators for their immediate work.
The death of Rosemary Njeri
Rosemary Njeri disappeared on March 15, 2025, after leaving Thika go to meet a friend. He was expected to go down Ruiru, but he did not arrive after leaving.
Her phone is alleged to have turned off shortly afterwards, which made her boyfriend, who had escorted her, to be very worried.
He went to report his disappearance a few hours later, but was told to wait 24 hours before he was announced he had disappeared.
“After those hours were over, the police allowed him to post Rosemary’s photos on social networks to find out where he was. He also came home to find him,” One family member told the media a few days after Rosemary’s death.
His body was found in a coffee farm in North Gatundu a few days later.
Hellen Wambui murder
A few days after Rosemary’s death, Hellen Wambui, who lived near Rosemary’s house, disappeared on March 30.
“I left the church and found him home. Hellen’s mother told the media two weeks ago.
His body was found two days later, buried in half on the ground.
