The incident took place on Monday evening, April 14, in Jwelu village, Kamumu suburb of Ramula in the suburbs of Rachuonyo East.
The attack was based on a suspected case of incorrect identity associated with livestock theft cases in the area.
According to reports of witnesses, anxiety increased when some villagers discovered a car parked in doubt in a hiding bush within the area.
How was the Homa Bay pastor struck by a car burned?
Due to the rise of livestock theft cases recently, in which small private vehicles are often used to transport stolen animals, the existence of the unknown vehicle raised doubts among locals.
After moving around to inspect the situation, the residents reportedly found a man inside the car with a woman.
Unknowingly, the man was a well -known pastor who collaborated with the Christian sect.
However, his presence in the area as well as the events of ongoing livestock theft, sparked outrage.
When facing an angry crowd, the priest was allegedly trying to escape the scene.
His actions were interpreted as proof of error, causing the crowd to follow him and force him.
Not one group of groups physically attacking him, the other burned his car.
“We didn’t know what exactly he was doing there, but he was in the car with a woman and there were pants,” a resident was quoted as saying.
As the situation exacerbated, the crowd continued to beat the priest until a few of the crowds recognized him and shocked that he was a preacher.
After knowing his identity, the crowd stopped the attack. However, damage had already been done, the pastor suffered serious injuries, especially in the head, and was forced to be rushed to the medical center.
At the same time, the woman with her escaped after witnessing the anger of the crowd. It is still unknown when reporting.

Locals warn about taking things in their hands
Ramula area chief Judith Gumbo Ayodo confirmed the incident and said that two people were arrested at the Center Sori police station while the investigation was underway.
He condemned the incident fiercely and warned residents against taking the law into their own hands.
“Anyone who is found doing the rights of a group of people will face the full power of the law,” he warned.
The incident comes one month after another amazing incident in the region where a car used by livestock thieves was also burned by residents.
In the case, two suspects were trapped in the afternoon trying to load a car stolen in a car in Kakoth village.
One of the suspects was killed in an instant slaughter, while the other escaped.
