Video has emerged online showing a Kenyan mother asking the court to imprison her baby in jail.

The case of humor in court, captured in a video circulated on Facebook, showed the woman urging the judge to stop her son.

Why is a Kenyan mother wanting her son to be imprisoned

He claimed that the boy had been threatening to kill him and was stealing household items.

“I can’t control her. She scares me, takes my property, and when we cook, she is the first to serve but she doesn’t even work,” said the sad mother.

A judge whose voice was heard in the background, asked the woman if the only reason to take her son to court was to fail to raise him properly.

“I will give him a free bail and list you as a contact person.

He also informed him that he had the option of not being listed as a son to contact his son to mean he would remain in prison.

The judge asked the woman if she was sure she wanted her son to be imprisoned.

“You have no pain about your baby going to jail? It’s not a good place – have you ever been there?” He asked.

He explained that he had been enduring the situation since July 2024 but was finally enough.

“You can’t leave anything clear when he is around. Even if he gets the beans, he will sell them. He even sold my thermos,” he said.

Kenyans online expressed different emotions, while others felt sorry for the mother and others sharing the same personal stories.

Lynn Gicharu: “This is like my brother. I don’t even mention him at all. I have no feelings with him.”
