In a related incident, Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen apologized following the chaos involving Butere Girls High School at the National Drama and Film Festival.

Murkomen expressed his regret over the action of law enforcement officers who were reportedly using tear gas against journalists who were following the incident.

He emphasized that the behavior is unacceptable and promised to initiate an investigation to ensure accountability.
