Why was the Mombasa building demolished?
A building in Mombasa was demolished after it appeared to be a threat to the safety of residents living beside it.
The nine -story building along Abdel Nasser's road showed signs of collapse after its ground floor began to burst.
It was demolished on Wednesday morning, April 9, by a team of various organizations managed by the Kenyan Defense Force (KDF).
Previously, Yusuf had reportedly disappeared, and there was confusion about whether he had died either lost or met his death elsewhere.
What did Yusuf's family say?
A spokesman for the family named Abdul Rahman from Old Town, said that CCTV photos had captured Yusuf near the demolished building as he walked inside.
“The government and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation have also looked at CCTV, showing him there, around the building, and within minutes the building went down,” said Abdul Rahman.
“We have been running back and forth, trying to find him and when we got there we reported to the Kenyan Defense Force. KDF They said they could not do any rescue work until the house was demolished, “he added.
In the video, the family stated that they were not happy with the speed of rescue despite governor Abdulswamad assuring them that the rescue work would be completed within 8 hours.
At that time, nothing was happening, and people were just coming to pick up scrap metal.
Many questions were so much about how did Joseph go through many restrictions, and no one discovered it?

Yusuf's death was also confirmed by his family and the Mombasa Women's Representative, Hon. Zamzam Mohammed.
He said he wrote a statement to the Administrative and Security Committee to ask where his brother, Yusuf Ali Abdi, had disappeared a few days ago.
“Just to realize that he was indeed a victim of a collapsed building that stole his life. May God pay a better Jannat and give him patience.
“I knew Joseph as a very humble and generous young man who supported my campaigns with great dedication. This is a loss for all Marious traders, the Kushi community and the whole of Mombasa County,” added Zamzam.
