Siaya: Businessman, 2 sons and a maiden dying in an accident involving a school bus

Siaya – A tragedy has hit one family after four of its members lost their lives on Sunday evening, April 6, in a Siaya -Nyadorera road accident near Uranga, just a few meters from the Lego Maria church.

Victims – a prominent businessman, Robert Odembo Oluoch, his two children, and their work girl – were traveling by a private car when it was involved in an accident and collided with a school bus coming from the other side.

The impact of the accident resulted in their deaths on the spot.

Oluoch, known as “Kodesh,” who was the owner of Kodembo Hardware in Port Victoria, was from Nairobi with his family when the tragic accident occurred.

According to earlier reports, the accident was caused by a truck driver who was driving negligently, who hit Oluoch's car from behind, causing him to lose focus and collision with the school bus.

Oluoch's wife and their three children survived but suffered severe injuries and bones broken. They are currently undergoing treatment at Siaya County Referral Hospital.

The tragedy has brought a great deal of shock to Port Victoria and Bunyala communities, where Oluoch was known as a hardworking entrepreneur and the main contributor to the region's economy.

Budalangi MP, Raphael Bitta Wanjala, expressed his deep sadness over the tragedy.

“I have received a shocking statement about the death of Robert Odembo Oluoch of Kodembo Hardware. He has died in a road accident in Uranga with his two children and a working girl. Said MP Wanjala.
