Gachaka says Ruto's visit to Mount Kenya was not worth it: “Empty Urong”

Nairobi – Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua He has dismissed the recent visit of President William Ruto in Mount Kenya, accusing him of engaging in political dramas.

In an interview with no restriction and Ktn On Monday, April 7, Gachagua responded to the President's claim at Sagana State Lodge.

“The Kenyan people can benefit from my response to the alleged ridicule made by the President William Ruto. It is very sad that I must spend time responding to such nonsense, ” Gachagua said.

Gachagua opposed how the visit was named for the Development Mission, saying nothing new was announced and that Ruto corrected the old projects.

“The president went to the mountain for a political visit, not a progressive tour you call, because nothing he did, when he passed he was just public meetings, he launches projects he has previously launched, he reviews projects, he is not an engineer, not estimated buildings or just made all the promises he made in the past as president,” Gachagua said.

He added that Mount Kenya residents were treated for more promises, many of which were made in 2022 and had not been implemented.

Gachagua's remarks were a direct response to the Ruto outbreaks made in Sagana, in which the president claimed his deputy claimed KSh 10 billion to “reorganize politics” in the area.

“It came to me that someone told me, 'You know, I (Rigathi Gachagua) can make you one term president if you don't do this, if you don't do this. I need ten billion shillings to go talk to the mountain people, you know, to prepare you politics,” Ruto claimed.

But Gachagua, seemingly angry at the accusations, ignored them directly, and referred to them as false and meaning that Ruto's mental state should be questioned.

He explained that his supporters wanted a immediate response to the accusations, but he chose to keep quiet for a while.

“I was under great pressure from followers and people who listened to him immediately. The former DP added.
