Maraga, a major critic of the current administration, emphasized that Kenya needs a change of leadership to fulfill its world's desires.
In his remarks during the Kenyan Central Festival 2025, Maraga stressed that the current administration had failed to serve the public, and to run systems to implement their wishes.
The former Chief Justice warned that without reform, the national expectation would remain low.
Maraga, in its direct way, said that Kenyan systems were intended to serve the public, but instead, some governments use these systems to develop their own agendas. Gave the blame directly to the door of Ruto.
He went on to emphasize that change of leadership is essential for the country to move forward.
“The system in accordance with the Constitution is supposed to serve the public, you have to serve everyone. But the sad thing is that some administrations use those systems to serve them instead of serving the country. Maraga said.

“The time of mourning is over so it is over. Young people refuse to despair and claim personality. Kenyan youths do not ask if change is possible. They make it an inevitable and only choice, because Kenya's future has never been released. It has always been claimed,” Maraga said.
He wanted the Kenyan youth to cross The processiondefending institutional changes to liberate themselves from what he described as misconceptions of the current administration.
“We as a country for many years, have been listening to young people as they march. Not what it should be. That is not a constitution or structure,” Maraga added.
Njirani warns David Maraga after being approved by Gen Z
As previously reported, political analyst and pilot Iain Njiraini issued a strong warning about his intention to run for president in the 2027 general election.
In the video distributed on InstagramNjiraini expressed doubts about the reliance on Gen Z's political support, advising Maraga to take careful action as he interpreted how the young man approves his leadership goal.
He acknowledged that although Kenyan youths encouraged Maraga to consider running for the presidency, history has shown that youth -led political enthusiasm often fades before being turned into a real election influence.
