In a statement released on Sunday, April 6, Mudavadi expressed concern about reports circulating in some media claiming he was associated with the new political alliance.

Prior to the government's nomination, Mudavadi was the leader of the Peace National Congress (ANC), which joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) of Ruto and other parties to form the Kenyan alliance before the 2022 general elections.

The Cabinet's prime minister stressed that the coalition was a voluntary and democratic decision supported by party members, and emphasized that he had dedicated his entire life to integrity, honesty, and unity in political leadership.

The statement noted that some of its former ANC allies are now holding top positions within the ruling party, including the position of deputy party leader, and continue to contribute significantly to the administrative structure.

After the coalition, some ANC leaders opposed the move, blaming Mudavadi for making major decisions without consultation, and vowed to separate it.

At the same time, reports claimed that its allies formed a new party called Union Summit Party (USP) shortly after the ANC was broken, with rumors saying they had Mudavadi's blessing.

Meanwhile, speaking during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Malindi, Mudavadi ignored Ruto's failure in the 2027 general election.

He mentioned a recent compromise agreement between Ruto and the ODM party Raila Odinga as a strong political alliance.

Mudavadi wondered how the opposition, including Gen Z's youth and the delegated deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, could win a solid coalition led by Ruto and Raila.
