Eric Mutinda, who is believed to be involved in the brutal killings, surrendered to authority at the Sultan Hamud police station in Makueni County early on Friday morning, April 4.
Mutinda whose relationship with the victim has been confirmed, is currently in the hands of the police, where he is assisting the investigators in the investigation.

Sources indicate that Eric Mutinda had a romantic relationship with Sylvia Kemunto, and that their relationship could play a role in a bad situation.
“The suspect is the girl's lover; his girlfriend,” One officer revealed.
Reports indicate that it was after intense negotiations with his parents that Mutinda chose to surrender to the authorities. They accompanied him to the toilet, and placed in custody immediately.
These events follow the shocking discovery of the lifeless Kemunto body, which was found packed into a water tank over a hostel at a multimedia university.
The incident that took place on Tuesday, April 1, has sparked outrage across the country, with many continuing to mourn the loss of the sister.

Police Strengthen the investigation in the murder
Following Mutinda's surrender, murder detectives returned to Multimedia University to monitor Kemunto's last events.
They went through the criminal area carefully to find new evidence that would help clarify the details of the murder.

Among the items collected from the scene are Sylvia beds and shoes, as well as suspect items.
These parts of the evidence will be tested scientifically while detectives put together a criminal schedule and possible motives.
It is believed that the day Sylvia lost, Mutinda had entered her room in college.
Interviewed by detectives at the campus, Mutinda later disappeared, which led to a severe search of police.
