Nairobi – The government has denied allegations of a diplomatic crisis between Kenya and South Sudan following the mediation efforts of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga In Juba.

The controversy stems from Raila's remarks after returning from Juba, where he claimed to be South Sudanese's first vice -president Riek Machar and his wife, Interior Minister Angelina Teny, were in prison.

In addition, he claimed that President Salva Kiir had directed him to consult with the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni about South Sudan's situation.

However, Juba vehemently denied the allegations with President Kiir's secretary, David Amuor Majur, denied that Teny was in a home barrier, citing Raila's statement of baseless and misleading.

In addition, the South Sudanese government dismissed Raila's claim that President Kiir had directed him to seek Museveni's advice.

Instead, they claimed that the Raila and Museveni summit had been organized and was not an order from the South Sudanese government.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken steps to eliminate concerns about the allegations of threatening Kenya's relationship with the youngest nation in Africa.

In a statement on Wednesday, April 2, Secretary -General of Foreign Affairs Korir Sing'oei dismissed the reports and called them untrue.

Despite the ongoing tensions, the African Union Commission (AUC) has sent a message from the Wise Panel to go to Juba to reduce the conflict.

AUC confirmed its commitment to ensure the full implementation of the South Sudanese conflict resolution agreement (R-ARCSS).

AUC Chairman Mahmoud Youssouf Ali emphasized the need for both parties to comply with the terms of the agreement, saying that the AU is still fully cooperating with the IGAD, the East African Community (EAC), and the United Nations to support South Sudan's transition to lasting peace.

William Ruto invented a dispute with Serbia

Elsewhere, President William Ruto He sparked a diplomatic dispute with Serbia after Kenya officially recognized Kosovo's independence.

The move, announced during a meeting by Kosovo's Foreign Minister, Dikika Gërvalla-Schwarz, was severely criticized by Serbian officials, who criticized Kenya for undermining the ongoing talks between Belgrade and Pristina.
