Why did Gladys Wanga dismiss Charles Odhiambo?
In a letter written on March 28, 2025, the governor of Homa Bay Gladys starch He officially terminated Odhiambo's contract, citing misconduct and actions that brought advice to his office, county and governor's office.
His resignation letter, which was distributed on Facebook by Mayienga FM, read in part saying:
“I take the steps that your recent conduct, through your obedience and/or not, similar to the great misconduct, inappropriate conduct and/or obedience, has brought a bad reputation and humiliation not only to your office, but with great sadness to the Homa Bay County government and especially the governor's office.

Earlier, reports spread online claiming that Odhiambo was attacked by unknown people, an incident that was widely circulated by a prominent blogger.
However in a telephone interview with Ramogi TV, Odhiambo denied the allegations, insisting that the allegations were false.

Previously, Wanga ignored the rumors involving Odhiambo, referring to them as baseless political propaganda.
The governor, who is currently in New York in the United Nations commission on women's situation, has dismissed allegations that her husband used terrorists to attack Odhiambo, allegations that were spread after bloggers claimed he was brutally beaten.
Family affairs expert Dr Esther Mwangi considered the issue and emphasized that such baseless rumors not only destroyed political reputation but also affect personal relationships.
He noted that public statistics and their families often suffer from false claims.
In his Twitter message on Monday, March 17, Wanga confirmed his commitment to serving the people who chose him, saying he was tough and would not be distracted by a lie.
