He added that excluding Gachagua could stimulate the claims of the Kikuyu community that they are being discriminated against, which can be used for political gain.

“We do not want him to start spreading politics by saying that the Kikuyu are excluded from the Kenyan agenda. He insisted.

Khalwale also criticized the deployment of security officials to disrupt Gachagua meetings in Kajiado and Naivasha, saying the move violated the principles of democracy.

“I saw Gachagua had meetings in Kajiado and Naivasha, and I saw many police officers. No! This is not the right thing,” He complained.

Ruto starts a tour of Mount Kenya

Khalwale's remarks come up at a time when President Ruto has settled Sagana for his five -day visit to Mount Kenya. He is expected to visit Kirinyaga, Meru, Laikipia, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi counties, Nyandarua, Murang'a, Embu, and Kiambu.

The visit takes place a few months after Gachagua was charged and removed from office on October 18, 2024, in which the Senate approved its removal following a motion submitted by Kibwezi West MP, Mutuse.

Removing Gachagua was fueled by allegations of violating the Constitution and rebellion against the President and the Cabinet, among other allegations.

Later, his position was taken by the former Minister of Internal Security, Kithure Kindiki.

However, Gachagua has emphasized that his dismissal was politically motivated and conspiring against him by Ruto and his allies.

He has continued to attack the President, accusing him of betrayal and not fulfilling his promises, especially in the interest of Mount Kenya.
