Why did Charles Nyachae quit the EACJ?
Speaking during an interview in front of the IEBC match panel on Monday, March 24, Nyachae explained that the court works for a while, with only four sessions each year, many being postponed due to financial problems.

The candidate revealed that he resigned from the EACJ, saying he felt he did not add value to the people of East Africa.
“The EA Justice Court is a temporary court, which means it is not all -time and works on a special calendar. There are four sessions a year, but each session is often canceled due to financial matters.
At that time, I was getting more than 250,000 KSh a month without doing anything. I felt that I did not add value to the people of East Africa by remaining in a court that did not work well, ” He explained.
The former chairman of the Constitutional Implementation Commission (CIC) emphasized his great history in law, administration and leadership, noting that he is currently studying for a degree in leadership and administration.
He acknowledged concerns about the abolition of chapter 6 of the Constitution and expressed a strong commitment to maintaining integrity in the IEBC if it was appointed.
Referring to the pressure arising from the role, Nyachae assured the panel that he would not resign, even in difficult situations.

“I will not leave work in the IEBC when I am given this opportunity as I withdrew from the EACJ because I know in the IEBC there is so much to do differently from the EACJ. He said.
Nyachae also revealed that some people had warned him of the risk of taking over the IEBC.
“A close friend told me to prepare or lose my integrity or my life, but I told him no – I don't intend to lose my life when I serve the people of Kenya,” He insisted.
Activists head to court to block Nyachae's request
Meanwhile, before the ongoing IEBC interview, a group of advocates has filed a petition in court to demand that Nyachae be replaced by the chairman.
The group argues that Nyachae is not worthy, citing his failure to resign as chairman of the Kenyan government school, a public office that he still holds.
They claim that this deprives him of the reputation of being appointed under the constitutional requirements of the role.
