Kimori Evans, founder of the Kimori Foundation, has written to the President Donald Trump Through the US embassy in Nairobi, seeking to intervene to enable Kihika to return to Kenya.

“On behalf of the Nakuru residents, I respectfully ask your intervention in facilitating (deporting) to return to Kenya so that he can return to work,” the letter read.

According to the request, Governor Kihika, who was elected in August 2022, has been in the United States for almost five months, allegedly seeking maternity services.

Why does Kimori want Susan Kihika to be deported?

Although Kenyan laws allow maternity leave for up to 90 days, the allegations of prolonged stay raised concerns about the limitations of leadership in the county.

“Kihika has been seeking maternity treatment with infants in the United States for a long time. He has missed for almost 5 months, resulting in a leadership role in Nakuru County,” claimed Kimori.

Kimori, also an activist, raised concerns about the allegations of Kihika's decision to seek medical treatment abroad despite his administration's closure of War Memorial Hospital, a public health center that served Nakuru residents since 1906.

The extinguishing of the center, despite numerous court orders being re -opened, has reportedly left thousands of residents – especially mothers, children, and non -ill patients.

The politician claimed that while Kihika allegedly enjoyed the top medical care in the United States, his voters continue to suffer from the deterioration of local health care.

“The people of Nakuru deserve responsible leadership, and his long -term stay in the United States removes the public confidence and the democratic authority given to him by voters,” the letter reads.

The letter has also been copied to the President William Rutoseeking to intervene in the matter. Responses from the US and Kenyan authorities are still pending.

Nakuru residents give the scandals to the county parliament to explain to Kihika

The letter follows a request submitted by some Nakuru residents to the county parliament on March 21, demanding details of the allegations of long -term absence.

The complainants claimed his absence had led to a leadership gap, with county secretary Samuel Mwaura allegedly taking on the responsibilities of deputy governor David Kones.

The confused residents issued a 14 -day deadline to the county parliament to explain who is in charge of Nakuru County at the moment.
