Why is the Kinyua family disappointed?
According to his wife, Susan Wanjiku, Gilbert Kinyua was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and diagnosed with rare neurological disorders, which cause severe muscle weakness and affect all his organs.
Kinyua was transferred to KNH from St. Mary's, Lang'ata, on December 11, 2024.
“We have been waiting for justice; as a family, we have not received any reports from the hospital,” Said his wife Susan on Citizen TV.
The family was told that the investigation was ongoing and no information could be provided for them until the investigation was completed.
“We don't know what to do, and we can't bury him until we get his right,” Said Susan.
Kenyans said about the case:
OSAIOHS:
“When justice is delayed it is a deprived right.”
Alfred Good Good:
“Every day is a cry in this nation, why is Kasongo?”
Paulinyoh Beshty:
“This Kenya every day is a murder in the jungle.”
Shahbaz Ali Mwero:
“And since there is no CCTV hospital?”

After Kenyans were aware of Kinyua's death, it was also found that there were no CCTV cameras in the hospital to indicate what had happened.
KNH's managing director, William Sigilai, explained that the patient who was lying near Kinyua had no mental problems as previously reported.
The institute has strengthened its security measures to ensure that over 1,800 patients, staff and visitors are safe.
